International Jazz Poetry Month
Since 2005, September in Pittsburgh has meant it’s time to celebrate Jazz Poetry at City of Asylum! This unique concert series pairs poets and jazz musicians to create unique, one-night-only improvisations that are a true celebration of freedom of creative expressions.
Jazz Poetry 2021 comprised 9 completely different concerts including 4 international commissions created specially for Jazz Poetry 2021. Some were virtual only, some were live-streamed from Europe directly to Pittsburgh, and some concerts were held live at Alphabet City. All of the concerts are available to stream on our archive of programs.
See below for a full list of the 2021 programs and links to watch recordings of each show on our archive.
